[Ciel is sitting at his desk, writing in long fluid strokes. While he does look better, there is something...off about him. Perhaps it's the way he's shifting in his seat or perhaps it has something to do with the tight, angry expression on his face. Whatever it is, the Earl is unnerved.

Finally, he puts down his pen and struggles to stand up. Grimacing, he grips the desk and struggles to steady his breathing - which is suddenly becoming shallower and shallower. Tipping sideways, he falls to his knees and curls into a small ball.

His entire body is trembling and, though it is barely audible, it seems like he is whispering "Not again" over and over again.]

It's not the same. [He mutters, forcing himself to look up. A moment later, he scrambles back into his chair and bites back a hiss of pain.] I'm free.

[Glaring, Ciel reaches across the desk and pulls the recorder closer.]

What is causing this?

Really? Magic of some kind?
If he is able to find the way to the inner clock mechanism maybe you would be good enough to tell me about it? I would love the opportunity to examine that clock.

It sounds like you have a strong will. But, I doubt this is an attempt to break you, it sounds more like the City has malfunctioned in some way.

Perhaps. [He's vague for a reason.] I will inform the City at large if Sebastian manages to fix the clock.

…that wouldn’t really help me get to the clock mechanism myself. A set of directions or a map would be a lot more useful.

One would mean the City as directly targeting you and the other would mean you, like everyone else affected by what is happening, is just a victim of circumstances.

Then I suggest you contact Sebastian when he returns.

[He rolls his eyes.]

The factory will suffer because of these complications.

Why is that? Surely the staff knows what to do and can complete… whatever your factory is building, without supervision.

They hardly have their feet under them. I have been standing beside them everyday.

If you believe they need that much supervision then maybe you should hire a temporary manager.
May I ask, what does your company produce?

Believe it or not, the amount of trustworthy people in this city is not endless.

It's not a secret. Funtom offers the public toys, games, clothing, sweets and survival items.

Toys and survival items…? One wouldn’t readily put those two things together, unless you mean tents and things of that nature. I suppose those could be both toys and survival items.

The survival items are a new addition. Funtom did not offer them in London.

I see. The City does have a great need of items like that…

Thus why we offer them.
