Sebastian!
[A pause. Uncomfortable silence. And then...]
Just because I was away doesn't mean you had permission to shirk your duties.
[Someone is upset with the donation card.]
By the way, where is my tea?

I've never heard of an inhaler. [He's from 1888.]

It's a device that lets you breath in the medicine through your air intake so it goes through your airwaves to help your lungs. Asthmatics tend to carried them around just in case they have shortness of breath. [Wasn't sure when they were first used, but it might be easier she thinks.]

That sounds...practical. [As it stands, he has to rely on the injections and blind luck.] I don't suppose I could find one of those here?

[Not the best idea if he has attacks that are so severe, but he gets into a lot of danger already I guess.] Some pharmacies sell basic ones I believe, others can only be obtained through presciptions.

That would require me seeing a physician. [He hates doctors.]

Well...I can't promise it will work but if I go to the hospital I can always ask them to fill a standard inhalor with something if I give them a sample of the medicine you usually take. If some people I know are still there they may give me leeway...

If I must, I will come with you. [Long sigh.] I would rather not die that way. Especially not here.

That would probably mean they can give you the best medicine to counter your asthma. They'd probably just use a device to check your breathing anyway.
Mm, there is the worry of entrapment if you do.

Entrapment? I'm not sure I understand.

If you die here...they say you can't ever leave. When you die here you wake up a day later, only...you're cold, and lacking a heartbeat. Certain curse deaths are exempt from this rule [Knows this from experience sadly.], but for the most part, if you die in some other way in the City you're apparently unable to ever exit home again.

Then I would like to avoid being stuck in such a situation. [The very idea makes his blood run cold.]

To be fair some who die here have disappeared, but the way it works...well you can't tell if they were sent home, or just...somewhere else entirely. The deities tend to give the idea that if you're technically dead then there's no point in sending you back home to the instant you left.

You seem to know a lot about this.

And unfortunate indicator how long I've been here, I've seen it happen more than once.
